The 1965 science fiction novel Dune, by Frank Herbert, was bought to life by visionary, some say legendary director, David Lynch in 1984 as a 136 minute all-out-epic film. Possibly ahead of its time, as great films often are, the film underwhelmed its producers’ expectations and bombed at the box office, but continues to bedazzle an ever growing audience of cult followers, still to this this day. Joe Bananas is an enduring David Lynch fan and Dune remains a favourite.

Central to the film’s plot and its futuristic universe lies the fictional planet known as Dune, formally as Arrakis. Whilst Arrakis is more baron than the harshest deserts we know on earth, it is the sole source of Melange, euphemistically known as ‘spice’ but consumed as a drug throughout the Dune Universe. This Jacket is inspired by the famed desert dunes, of Arrakis and upon each wear, it invokes the film’s famed soundtrack by Toto and Brian Eno.
